What Makes the OASIS Ganpati Backdrop Different?
The OASIS Makhar Backdrop is designed specifically to make fresh flower decoration easier.
It comes with OASIS® Floral Foam attached to an MDF backing and two detachable MDF support legs, so you don't need to build a separate frame or arrange additional support. The backdrop measures 2 ft wide × 2.5 ft high, with floral foam thickness of approximately 30–40 mm.
The floral foam holds water and supplies moisture to the flower stems, helping them stay hydrated after they are inserted.
How to Keep Your Ganpati Flowers Fresh for Longer
1. Hydrate the Floral Foam Properly
The floral foam needs to remain moist throughout the display period.
Because the OASIS Ganpati Backdrop has floral foam fixed to an MDF backing, do not immerse the complete backdrop in water.
Instead, use a spray bottle to evenly wet the foam. The product instructions recommend mixing 1 sachet of FloraLife® Flower Food with 0.5 litres of water and regularly spraying the mixture onto the foam.
2. Check the Foam Every Day
Don't wait until the flowers start wilting.
Check the foam daily and add water whenever it starts becoming dry. Keeping the stems connected to a moist water source is one of the most important things you can do for flower longevity.
3. Keep the Backdrop Away From Heat
Ganpati decorations often include diyas, lamps and other lights. While they look beautiful, heat can make flowers lose moisture faster.
Keep your floral backdrop away from:
Direct sunlight, Strong fans, Air conditioners, Heat from diyas, Other direct heat sources
OASIS also recommends keeping the arrangement away from these conditions.
4. Remove Wilted Flowers
If one flower starts wilting, remove it rather than leaving it in the arrangement.
This keeps the backdrop looking cleaner and allows you to replace individual flowers without disturbing the entire design.
5. Start With Fresh Flowers
Flower longevity starts before you even begin decorating.
Always choose flowers that are:
- Freshly harvested or recently received
- Firm and hydrated
- Free from damaged petals
- Free from signs of wilting
The fresher the flowers are at the time of arranging, the better your chances of maintaining a beautiful backdrop throughout the celebration.
Some recommended flowers - Chrysanthemums (Also known as Shevanti), Carnations, Orchids, Anthuriums, Alstroemeria, Unopened Lily Buds.
Recommended Foliage
Good-quality foliage can make your backdrop look fuller while also helping maintain the overall appearance of the arrangement.
Some suitable choices include:
Kamini Patta, Aspidistra, Leather Fern, Dracaena, Monstera, Philodendron, Areca Palm, Song of India, Baby's Breath (Gypsophila)
Choose the right flowers + keep the foam moist + protect the flowers from heat + replace wilted blooms.
