If you work with fresh flower arrangements, Oasis floral foam helps hold stems in place and keeps flowers hydrated. However, the way you soak the foam is very important. Incorrect soaking can lead to dry spots inside the foam, weak support for stems, and flowers that wilt too quickly. The good news is that properly soaking Oasis foam is simple once you know the right method.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Oasis (wet) floral foam

  • Clean container or sink

  • Fresh water

  • FloraLife Flower food

STEP BY STEP: HOW TO SOAK OASIS FLORAL FOAM

Step 1:  Fill a clean container or sink with room temperature water. If you want to use flower food, mix it into the water according to the instructions.

Step 2: Place the dry foam block gently on top of the water. Do not push it down. Allow it to float on the surface.

Step 3: Let the foam sink on its own. A normal block of Oasis will usually become fully soaked in 30 seconds to 1 minute. The foam is ready when it sinks completely and stops bubbling.

Step 4: Lift the foam out carefully by supporting it from the bottom. Handle it gently so it does not crack.

Step 5: Place the soaked foam into your container. If you need to trim it, cut the foam to size before soaking next time. Cutting wet foam can cause crumbling.

Step 6: Insert your flower stems gently. Try not to remove and reinsert stems because that creates large holes and weakens the structure.

TIPS:

  • Keep the arrangement topped up with fresh water so the foam stays moist.

  • Do not reuse wet floral foam because it loses strength after the first use.

  • Store unused dry Oasis blocks in a cool, dry place.

Properly soaking Oasis floral foam helps flowers stay fresh longer and keeps your arrangement stable. This simple technique makes a big difference in how your finished arrangement looks and lasts.
